About Us
The Hyacinth Society is an organization devoted to the health, safety, and success of youth who fall outside of perceived societal norms of sexual orientation and gender identity. Through community development, program planning, network building and research we hope to work with, and as a part of communities to provide queer youth with the support that they need.
Our Mission Statement:
‘The Hyacinth Society’ provides queer youth with education, skills, and support useful to them, with positive, inclusive and contemporary services related to social issues, empowerment, and health.
Further, it fosters excellence in the field of queer youth services by collaborating with communities, academic institutions, and the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to develop safe, sound and evidence based practices.
